Easter III, sd. – Sunday.

 

  • Psalms & Easter Antiphons at all Hours, no Preces at any Hours (except where indicated).
  • Matins: Invitatory & Hymn from Ordinary for Eastertide. Matins is of three Nocturns. Nocturns I – III lessons from p. C360-363 w/responds as there given, followed by Te Deum. 
  • At Lauds, Psalms, antiphons Psalter as for Eastertide. Chapter from p. C364, Hymn from Ordinary for Eastertide, Antiphon on Benedictus and Collect from p. C364. Followed by commemoration of St. Anselm (p. E150). 
  • Little Hours as for Sunday in Eastertide. 
  • Vespers: Psalms & antiphons as in the Psalter for Eastertide. Chapter from p. C364, Hymn from Ordinary as for Eastertide. Antiphon on Magnificat and Collect from p. C364. Followed by commemoration of St. Anselm. 
  • Compline: as for Sunday in Eastertide.

Feria – Monday.

  • Psalms & Easter antiphons at all Hours.
  • Matins:  Invitatory & Hymn from Ordinary for Eastertide. One Nocturn three lessons p. C364-C365, followed by Te Deum. 
  • Lauds: Chapter & Hymn from Ordinary for Eastertide. Antiphon on Benedictus from p. C365. Collect from previous Sunday (p. C364), followed by Commemoration of the Cross. No Preces.
  • Little Hours: as in the Ordinary & Psalter for Eastertide and at Prime Dominical Preces are said.
  • NOTE: in the UK this feast is a I Class Double and all is from the Proper & Common.
  • Vespers: from Chapter of St. George using Common 4 (One Martyr in Eastertide) for Chapter, Hymn, and Antiphon on Magnificat (p. F30-31). Collect from p. E152, followed by Commemoration of the Cross from Common Forms. 
  • Compline: as in the Ordinary & Psalter for Eastertide, Dominical Preces are said.

St. George M., sd., – Tuesday.

  • Psalms & Antiphons at all Hours from Psalter as for Eastertide.
  • Matins: Invitatory & Hymn from Common 4. One Nocturn. First two lessons i and combine ii & iii into second lesson (p. C365-366), third lesson of St. George p. E152-153, followed by Te Deum. 
  • Lauds: from Chapter of the Feast using Common 4, Collect from p. E152, followed by Commemoration of the Cross from Common Forms. 
  • Little Hours: from Chapter of the Feast using Common 4, at Prime Dominical Preces. 
  • Vespers: from Chapter of the Feast using Common 4, Collect from p. E152, followed by Commemoration of the Cross. 
  • Compline: from the Psalter & Ordinary as for Eastertide, Dominical Preces are said. 

Feria – Wednesday.

  • Psalms & Antiphons at all Hours from Psalter as for Eastertide. 
  • Matins:  Invitatory & Hymn from Ordinary for Eastertide. One Nocturn, three lessons p. C366-367, followed by Te Deum.
  • Lauds: Chapter & Hymn from Ordinary as for Eastertide, Antiphon on Benedictus  from p. C367,  Collect from p. C364, followed by Commemoration of the Cross.
  • Little Hours: as in the Psalter & Ordinary for Eastertide, at Prime Dominical Preces. 
  • Vespers: all as for the Feast of St. Mark p. E155 Psalms of Vespers 3, what is not provided in the Proper is from Common 3. 
  • Compline: as for Sunday in Eastertide. 

St. Mark the Evangelist, d. II Class. 

  • All as for the Feast of St. Mark p. E155. 
  • Matins: Invitatory & Hymn from Common 3. Matins is of three Nocturns. Psalms according to Common 3. Lessons i-iii from Common 3 w/responds from Common 3. Lessons iv from p. E155 & lessons v-vi from Common 3. Lessons vii-ix from Common 3.
  • Lauds: all as for the Feast. NOTE today the Litany of the Saints is said p. S91. The litany begins immediately at Lauds after the words “Thanks be to God” without the penitential Psalms. 
  • Little Hours: all as for the Feast w/Sunday Psalms. 
  • Vespers: all for the Feast as in the Proper & Common.
  • Compline: of Sunday in Eastertide.

Feria – Friday

  • Psalms & Antiphons at all Hours from Psalter as for Eastertide. 
  • Matins:  Invitatory & Hymn from Ordinary for Eastertide. One Nocturn, three lessons p. C369-370, followed by Te Deum.
  • Lauds: Chapter & Hymn from Ordinary as for Eastertide, Antiphon on Benedictus from p. C370, collect from p. 364, followed by Commemoration of the Cross.
  • Little Hours: as in the Psalter & Ordinary for Eastertide, at Prime Dominical Preces. 
  • Vespers: of the Saturday Office of Our Lady in Eastertide p. G4.
  • Compline: as in Ordinary and Psalter for Easteride, w/Dominical Preces. 

Saturday Office of Our Lady, s.

  • All as for the Saturday Office in Eastertide.
  • Matins: Invitatory & Hymn from p. G2. One Nocturn. Psalms of Saturday w/Easter Antiphon. Lessons i-ii from p. C370 (combining i & ii into second lesson), lesson iii p. G6 for April, followed by Te Deum. 
  • Lauds: Psalms for Saturday w/Easter antiphon. Rest as in Saturday Office of Our Lady in Eastertide (G4 & G2-3), Collect p. G.4 for Eastertide, followed by Commemoration of the Cross. 
  • Little Hours: as on p. G3. At Prime “Thou that deignedst to be born of the Virgin Mary” w/Dominical Preces. 
  • Vespers: all as in the Ordinary & Psalter for Eastertide. Chapter & Antiphon on Magnificat from Lauds p. C374. Collect from p. C374 w/Commemoration of the Cross.
  • Compline: as in Psalter & Ordinary for Eastertide, Dominical Preces.
