Ordo June 21st


Please note that the Easter Alleluia is no longer taken and that the Marian Antiphon is Salve Regina. Also Trinity Sunday was introduced as a feast having an Octave. The AB suggests that in order to keep it the Office of the Feast is continued under SemiDouble rite.

I Vespers: all Common 2 except what is given as Proper (p. E218), w/comemm., of Trinity Octave (C449-450: Ant. “With our whole heart …  V/R “Blessed art thou … & And worthy to be …” + Collect “Almighty and everlasting God …”).

Compline: of Sunday.

Matins: Inv. “The Lord the king of the Apostles …” & Hymn “Aeterna Christi munera“: Psalms of Common 2, Lessons: Noct. i: Acts 2 (E218-219) & Resp. Common 2; Noct. ii: Divers (E219-220) & Resp. Common 2; Noct. iii: Gospel of John & Augustine, Te Deum.

Lauds: all as for the Feast what is not given as Proper from Common 2. Psalms of Sunday. Commem. of Trinity: as for I Vespers but using Lauds propers of p. C448, Collect, same.

Prime & Hours: Prime I, Athanasian Creed is not said because Trinity is only comemmorated. Hours as for the Feast Psalms of Sunday.

II Vespers: all as for I Vespers, but Psalms & Ant. from Common 2, w/commem., of St. Aloysius Table 9c, Collect E231, commem., of St. Alban Table 5a Collect E232 & commem., of Trinity using propers of II Vespers as above.

Compline: of Sunday.
