St. Patrick

St. Patrick, B.C., Lesser Double (but in Ireland and Scotland as a I or II Class Double in which case all from Common 7)

In Lent a Commem. of Feria is made at both Vespers and at Lauds, and Matins is by Rule 2, with Homily of Feria as last Lesson.

On this Feast – if kept as a Lesser Double – Matins can be reduced to 3 Lessons by Rule 2. The Essential parts of the Office are from the Psalter the accidental parts are from Common 7. Preces are not said, a Collect from the Irish Prayer Book is also given in the Appendix p. S21 as are further instructions for keeping the Feast according to a higher rank. At Vespers today the Office is for St. Cyril from the Chapter onwards and there is a Comemm. of St. Patrick.

Next Feast March 18th – St. Cyril of Jerusalem.
